Why You Should List Erotic Items In The Sexual Wellness Category
As a vendor, your number one priority is getting people to see your products and ultimately make a purchase so you can earn a profit.
When it comes to visibility, quite a number of things are involved. First, your product has to be properly named, and listed with appropriate images and most importantly they should be under the right category.
If you sell erotic items, the goal remains the same, but extra care needs to be taken to ensure that these items are listed in the appropriate category.
Erotic items are extremely sensitive and should only be seen by the right target audience which in this case are individuals older than 18.
To paint a clearer picture, imagine this scenario; you’re shopping for a new gamepad for a PS4 console with your child on the website and you click on the video games accessories category and a condom or a vibrator appears in the search results, this isn’t ideal. Simply put, if you sell erotic items (condoms, vibrators, etc.), your products should only be seen by adults.
On the website, there is a specific category for erotic items, the sexual wellness category which contains adult items such as sex toys, condoms, sexual enhancers etc. This category can and should only be accessed by individuals aged 18 and above as it contains explicit items and images.
In addition to the dangers of underaged individuals viewing these products, there are consequences for vendors who go ahead to list erotic items in categories other than sexual wellness. You risk your products being brought down or delisted from the website.
To avoid this, extra attention needs to be paid to the categories where you list your items.
